THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM FOR POTENTIOMETRIC STRIPPING ANALYSIS(PSA) IS DESCRIBED. GENERAL STUDIES, AS AN OVERALL CONTRIBUTION TO PSA, HAVE BEEN MADE AND CERTAIN APPLICATIONS ARE PRESENTED. 1. A PSA SYSTEM WAS BUILT, USING THE PRINTED CIRCUIT TECHNIQUE. THE SYSTEM IS INTERFACED WITH AN AMSTRAD CPC 464 MICROCOMPUTER SO THAT ALL EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS CAN BE EASILY CONTROLLED AND DATA STORAGE AND PROCESSING IS FEASIBLE. 2. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE USE OF CERTAIN ALTERNATIVE OXIDANTS THAT CAN BE USED INSTEAD OF THE COMMONLY USED MERCURY (II) HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT. 3. MEMORY EFFECTS ON THE MERCURY COATED WORKING ELECTRODE HAVE BEEN EXAMINED. 4. A GENERAL STUDY OF METAL INTERFERENCES IN PSA HAS BEEN MADE. 5. THE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE FORMATION OF INTERMETALLIC COMPOUNDS HAVE BEEN STUDIED. 6.
